it is supposed to be ''every'' and i'm pretty sure the above are

sufficient in explaining why 'each' is grammatically incorrect.

I guess ''every'' would be preferable. It suggests that it is
Honey Buns
something that is still taking place until this very day. Usually ''each''

is used when you're descibing a series of similar things. It could be used

if you were escribing all the years that the organization has distributed

food. ''Each year was better than the last''.

There is also another mistake, besides ''an organization'' at the
beginning, which someone has already pointed out. It should be ''has been
feeding needy families'' without the ''the''.

''per'' is probably preferred.

''An organization'' at the beginning sounds retarded, try ''The
Buttonz
Kitchen, an organization that has been feeding the needy.''

''The Kitchen, an organization that has been feeding the needy since 1977,
distributes nearly a million pounds of food each year.''

because, years are unlimited.

See if you say,
''I will give 5 pounds to each student in a class.''
because we know what is the approximation limit of the group of the
students, but for years it is not the case.

There are a couple of things that are wrong

First, you do not need a comma after ''organization.'' This is what is
Joined: Thursday, 27th of May 2010, 20:17:45
called an appositive. An appositive is when you state a noun & then state
Posts: 1649
its name without talking to it. For example: ''my sister Emily'' ''my dog
Viewed 4735 times
Fido'' etc. You only use commas around names when you are addressing a
person. For example: ''Emily, please bring me a sandwich.'' ''Fido, fetch
the paper.''

You need to capitalize the name of the place The Kitchen

An organization The Kitchen has been feeding the needy families since
1977, & distributing nearly a million pounds of food each year.

Saying ''each'' is important because it lets the reader know that the
amount of food given is done one time every year.
